Microneedling

Treatment

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment designed to rejuvenate the skin and stimulate collagen production. During the procedure, a device with fine needles creates tiny, controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. This process activates the skin’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production, which are essential for firm, youthful skin.

Pre Treatment Care

Avoid Sun Exposure
Avoid direct sun exposure, sun beds or fake tan for 2 weeks before your treatment.

Discontinue Retinoids and Exfoliants
Stop using products that contain retinoids, retinol, or strong exfoliating ingredients (e.g., alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids) for at least 5-7 days before your treatment to reduce skin irritation.

Avoid Blood-Thinning Medications
Unless directed by your Doctor, avoid taking blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and vitamin E for 3-5 days before your treatment to minimise bruising and bleeding.

Hydrate Your Skin
Drink plenty of water and keep your skin well-moisturised leading up to the treatment. Hydrated skin is more responsive to the microneedling process.

No Botox or Fillers
Avoid Botox or Filler for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.

Avoid Waxing and Hair Removal
Do not wax or undergo hair removal treatments on the area to be treated for at least 3-5 days prior to your microneedling session.

Inform Your Provider of Health Conditions
Make sure to notify your provider of any skin conditions (such as eczema or psoriasis), current medications, or recent cosmetic procedures to ensure the treatment is suitable for you.

On the day of the treatment

Preparation of the Treatment Area
The treatment area is gently cleansed to ensure the skin is free from contaminants and ready for the procedure.

Microneedling Treatment
We will use a microneedling device, which contains tiny, fine needles, to create controlled micro-injuries (also known as “micro-channels”) on the surface of your skin. We will move the device across the targeted area, adjusting the needle depth according to the treatment’s needs (e.g., for fine lines, acne scars, or pigmentation). This process stimulates collagen and elastin production in the skin, helping to rejuvenate and repair it.

Sensation During Treatment
During the procedure, you may feel a mild tingling or vibrating sensation, but most people report the treatment as tolerable.

Cooling and Soothing
After the microneedling process is complete, we will apply a soothing cream to help calm the skin. You may experience some redness and mild swelling following the procedure, similar to a mild sunburn, but this usually subsides within a few hours to a day.

Post Treatment Care

Avoid Touching the Treated Area
Do not touch, rub, or scratch the treated area for at least 24 hours to avoid introducing bacteria and to allow the skin to heal properly.

Redness and Sensitivity
Expect redness and mild sensitivity similar to a mild sunburn for 24-48 hours. This is a normal part of the healing process and will subside gradually.

No Makeup for 24 Hours
Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for 24 hours to allow your skin to heal.

Avoid Sun Exposure
Protect your skin from direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks post-treatment. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to prevent pigmentation changes.

Avoid Heat and Sweating
Refrain from activities that induce sweating or heat exposure (e.g., exercise, hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms) for at least 48 hours after the treatment.

No Harsh Skincare Products
Avoid using products containing retinoids, exfoliants, acids (AHAs, BHAs), or any harsh ingredients for at least 7 days after the treatment.

Dryness and Peeling
It is normal for the skin to feel dry or flake a few days after microneedling. Do not pick or peel the skin as it may lead to scarring.

Avoid Invasive Treatments
Avoid facials, chemical peels, or laser treatments for at least 2 weeks after your treatment.
